Tell The People!

By the people for the people…..TELL THE PEOPLE so the people can do the by the people for the people thing!
I am sorry but all I want to say when I see these webinars, seminars, conferences, meetings, and events where we all speak to each other round and round and round and round is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and more blah! Yeah, I know, we are learning and sharing….whoopdeedoo
Those who are interested already know. It is when we reach those who ARE NOT INTERESTED or are afraid to be interested because they do not have answers….that is when we know that we have succeeded.
Just my very humble and frustrated, somewhat unique and very judgmental (of myself) opinion. Sorry if I insult anyone or step on toes.
We have promising practices coming out our ears! Unless we get the issue in front of the people all of these carefully laid plans will fall apart. That is unless our MRCs, local boards of health, cities and towns, and medical personnel believe that they can provide for the citizens that they claim to have an interest in.
Having knowledge of a potentially devastating, impending event and not sharing that information makes you responsible for those that you do not tell if you are in a position of authority or responsibility. If you are in a position of trust, especially elected to that position, you have a moral and ethical responsibility to tell people that they need to prepare if you yourself cannot prepare for them!
Elected and appointed officials who do not feel that they bear this moral or ethical responsibility will have to answer for their inaction. And there will be questions.
What did you know and when did you know it? You received a salary from us, were trusted by us, and you failed to warn us.
Why did you not tell me that I needed to prepare, if you had I could have been more careful, my child, husband, wife, brother, sister, etc. might not have died?
I trusted that I would hear this information from you, I didn’t take the warnings seriously because I did not hear this from my local, state or federal officials….I thought it was a hoax because my government did not come forward in a way that I could hear.
To reach the general public with lifesaving information it will take a concerted effort from many people and sources. As I have stated before in other posts, I have given this my best effort and have only been able to reach a few people. These people did not panic, or ignore me, some have started to prepare. But how many more would prepare with a diligent and concentrated effort?
There is a learning curve, an economic hurdle, and it takes time. Please do not wait or rely on promising practices designed to respond AFTER the pandemic has begun….that is too late for most.
NOW is the time to inform people. Now when there is time to learn, adjust, and prepare….NOW!!! We all must work at this together.
